The short version

ShrinkForge does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It has no internet access. Your photos never leave your device.

What the app can access

ShrinkForge processes images you explicitly select. It reaches them in one of two ways, both controlled by Android:

• The system photo picker. Android shows you your gallery and hands the app only the specific images you tap. The app cannot browse your library.
• The system file picker. You choose a file, and Android grants access to that file alone.

The app declares no Android permissions whatsoever — including no internet permission. You can confirm this on the app's page in Android Settings.

What happens to your images

Selected images are decoded in memory, re-encoded according to the settings you choose, and written back to your device — either into Pictures/ShrinkForge or, if you choose "replace original", over the file you picked. Nothing is copied anywhere else. Nothing is uploaded. There is no server.

Metadata (EXIF)

Photos often carry EXIF metadata including camera model, capture time and GPS coordinates. ShrinkForge gives you a switch:

• Keep EXIF on — metadata is copied to the output file, exactly as it was in the original.
• Keep EXIF off — the output contains no metadata at all, because it is re-encoded from raw pixels.

The app never reads this metadata for any purpose other than showing it to you on the comparison screen and copying it when you ask it to.

What is stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of local configuration using Android's DataStore: your theme choice, your default settings, your file naming template, a running total of storage reclaimed, and a short list of recent jobs (tool used, image count, bytes saved, timestamp). This never leaves your device. You can clear the counters and recent activity inside the app under Settings → Lifetime totals, and uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

There are none. ShrinkForge contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking of any kind. No advertising identifier is read. No profile is built.

Payments

ShrinkForge is a one-time purchase through Google Play. The transaction is handled entirely by Google; the app never sees or stores your payment details. Google's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or external links.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "last updated" date. Because the app collects nothing, any change would have to accompany a functional change to the app itself.
