Summary

FrameCut works entirely on your PC. It doesn't collect, send or share any personal data. It has no account, no telemetry, no analytics, no ads and no network features.

What FrameCut does with your files

  • FrameCut reads the video files you open and writes the files you export to the location you choose. Your videos are never uploaded anywhere.
  • While an export runs, FrameCut writes temporary working files to your Windows temporary folder and a partial output file (named … .part.mp4 or similar) next to the export. Both are deleted when the export finishes, fails or is cancelled.
  • FrameCut starts its bundled copy of FFmpeg (ffmpeg.exe, inside the app package) on your PC to re-encode the frames at each cut. FFmpeg runs locally and receives video frames only from FrameCut.

What FrameCut stores on your PC

FrameCut saves a few settings in your Windows user profile (in the app's own package storage when installed from the Microsoft Store):

  • Up to 8 recently opened file paths — the "Recent" list on the start screen
  • The last folder you opened a file from — so the Open dialog starts there
  • Light or dark theme — to remember your choice
  • Window size and position — to reopen the window where you left it

Project files (.fcut) are only written when you choose Save. They contain the path of the source video and your segment list (names, start and end frames). FrameCut doesn't write log files.

Network access

FrameCut contains no network code and makes no internet connections. It works fully offline.

Data sharing

None. FrameCut has nothing to share because it doesn't collect anything.

Removing your data

Uninstalling FrameCut removes its settings. Your videos, exports and project files stay where you saved them; delete them yourself if you no longer need them.

Children

FrameCut doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version changes any of this, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
