Background Remover removes photo backgrounds entirely on your own device. The developer operates no servers for this app and receives none of your data.

What the app does with your photos

Photos you add are read from the folders you choose, processed by AI models that run on your PC, and the results are written to the output folder you choose. Your original files are never modified. Saved images do not include the EXIF metadata (such as GPS location) of the originals.

While the app is open it keeps temporary copies of the cut-out masks in a private cache folder on your PC so that re-saving with new settings is instant. That folder is cleared each time the app starts.

Network use

Background Remover makes no network connections of its own. Both AI models are installed with the app; nothing is downloaded after installation. The app does not request the internet capability from Windows.

To support the 7-day free trial, the app asks Windows for its Microsoft Store licence status (trial, purchased or expired). That check is handled by Windows and the Microsoft Store under Microsoft's own privacy terms; the app sends nothing about you or your photos.

What we collect

Nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting service.

Settings

Your preferences (chosen background, framing, file format and similar) are stored locally on your PC so they are remembered next time.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
